The 28th Bomb Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, has received the first four of the new Block-D upgraded B-1 bombers. Unlike other B-1s which are limited to "dumb" bombs, the Block Ds can carry "near precision" weapons and later upgrades will give them a full precision weapons capability. The Block-D bombers also have towed decoys designed to distract enemy weapons away from the aircraft itself. --Stephen V Cole
