Indian Defense Ministry specialists arrived at the Uralvagonzavod plant on the evening of 26 March to inspect the shipping preparations for the second batch of T-90S tanks. Inspections of this second batch of 40 tanks should end on 30 March.

There have been several production changes to this second batch, including deleting the traditional yellow-brown camouflage paint to one more suitable sandy territory. The tanks were also fitted with air conditioners and the maintenance kit extended. A total of 124 T-90S are to be delivered by the end of 2002. - Adam Geibel
