American marines fighting in Iraq have come up with a quick and simple way to quickly clear a stretch of road of remotely controlled bombs. Marine armored vehicles (AAVs) can be equipped with the Mk 154 Mine Clearance System, which uses rockets to propel a cable (stuffed with explosives) down a road.
