  The UN gave the Taliban a month to turn over Osama Bin Laden and stop supporting terrorism. Otherwise, a new list of sanctions will be imposed. These include an arms embargo,  reinforced its existing air embargo, closing Taliban offices abroad, and making it difficult for Taliban officials to leave Afghanistan. In the past few days, some sixty UN aid workers were withdrawn from Afghanistan, just before the sanctions were announced,  for their safety. The Red Cross and other aid foreign workers remained.
