A grenade attack took place in the Athens shopping district of Patissia. A UPI report said the attack created panic among thousands of shoppers in the central Athenian district. Earlier the same day, bomb attacks damaged two banks in the Halandri district. In the attack on the Ionian Bank branch in Halandri, a time bomb with ten "gas canisters" attached did the damage. The report didn't say if the gas was "petrol" or tear gas. No group took responsibility for the attacks. Greece's national elections are scheduled for April 9.
