NATO-led peacekeepers launched an operation to destroy around 1,000 metric tons of weapons and ammunition belonging to the Bosnian Serb Republic's army, including about 5,000 surface to air missiles. Bosnia's two armies which also need to dismiss 7,500 soldiers by the end of the year to have a 12,000-strong-force. The diplomats are trying to forge a single army from the two ethnic armies leftover from the war. - Adam Geibel
