Pakistan gave Afghanistan a large quantity of weapons (5,000 submachine guns, 180 mortars, 75 RPGs and 10,000 mortar shells) for their army.

In Kashmir, India accused Pakistan of using heavy artillery bombardments to distract Indian border guards so that Islamic militants could sneak in. Elsewhere, three rebels and a soldier died in clashes.
