Israel denied involvement in the recent assassination of a Palestinian media official. The hit appeared to be by Palestinians. The current campaign by Palestinians against Palestinian collaborators has apparently unleashed violence against corrupt Palestinian officials. The media official recently killed had been known as particularly corrupt. The Palestinian Authority announced a 45 day amnesty for collaborators who voluntarily turn themselves in and submit to interrogation. Off the coast, Israeli, US and Turkish ships conducted joint rescue exercises.
