Continued military operations in the south left three MILF rebels dead. Elsewhere in the south, communist NPA rebels surprised a detachment of militiamen and seized nine rifles and some radios. Meanwhile, on Jolo, the army continued to pursue Abu Sayyaf rebels holding two hostages. A clash today left ten rebels, as well as one soldier dead and four soldiers wounded.
