After a two-day session in the North Caucasus Military District of generals and senior officers from the missile and artillery, armored, automobile, and meteorological services, as well as the deputy commanders in charge of weapons supplies, the Russians calculated that they had expended over 70,000 missiles and projectiles, along with over 90,000 tons of ammunition, during the course of the "anti-guerrilla operation" in the North Caucasus. How much of it is left unexploded is anyone's guess. - Adam Geibel
