Bulgaria and Estonia signed a free trade agreement. The agreement kicks in January 1, 2002. The free trade accord limits restrictions on manufactured goods and encourages trade in agricultural goods. The Bulgarian government is trying to use free trade agreements as an anti-corruption tool as well as a tool for strengthening its agricultural sector.
